To Ann Sexton

Stop sharing your innocent dreams,
my lonely child;
Stop telling me fairy tales,
my loving mother.

For what you are longing for is
sweet death,
something beyond a dead soul's reach.

I
This island is made of day dreams.
Fruit trees grow and length of beach expands
every time someone somewhere is
looking through window staring at the sky.

II
If I ever thought I couldn't live outside the big city,
I was wrong;
if I ever thought life needed a goal,
I was wrong.

III

- Old tale -

Self-Portrait
Swinging
and grasping
for nothing.

my feet
frozen
in the cold air,

A dizzy wind blows

On my shell.
I turn
round round and round
violently.

The whole world
shakes up-side
down.
I feel nothing
but
scream.

- Today's tale -

Stomach ache-o-meter

At the age of 2,
stomach ache was caused by what was picked up from the floor and put into the mouth;
at the age of 10,
stomach ache was casused by the burger in the lunch box or flu bugs from the kids at school;
at the age of 30,
stomach ache can be caused by worry about the future, fight with friends, illness of loved ones, tomorrow's presentation, or the cold left-over chinese food from last night's delivery.
